The first words on her website read ‘Elevate your outdoor cooking’, and they’re not wrong. Merely being in Sarah Glover’s presence absorbing her femininity while watching her be so comfortable over hot coals and freshly sliced roo meat is a sight to behold.
She’s so damn good at that, in her whimsical flowy dresses while cooking over open flames in the middle of some of Australia’s most rugged and stunning backdrops - that Gordon Ramsay himself filmed an episode of his new show, Unchartered, with her.
Shot on location in her native Tasmania, the duo met up in a remote region of the Forestier Peninsula where she schooled Chef Ramsay on how to prep fresh samphire, native cherries and pepperberry before firing up lean wallaby meat, out in the open and from the back of her car.
Self-described as a nature Chef, Sarah can capture the essence of nature’s raw rugged beauty and make every city slicker yearn to gear up with the latest outdoor portable kitchen and head outback, where a lot of her cookbook, WILD: Adventure is set. Sarah is also an Ambassador for Traeger Grills Australia.
Her incredible range of outdoor cooking skills and access to native foods that most other people may walk past, as well as her special talent for creating a truly heartfelt, exceptional meal from foraging and harvesting the freshest, seasonal food, means she is in high demand among the best of the best.
A quick glance on Martha Stewart’s blog and you’ll see the duo picnicking together with Tasmania’s wild sea in the background in Bangor, feasting on fresh seafood, just picked farm veggies and fruits – all presented in the back of Sarah’s rustic ute and just barely cooked over an open fire. When Martha Stewart says your food is ‘utterly delicious’, I think you can call it a year!
We are so happy to share with you Sarah Glover’s Christmas smoked lamb shoulder with pumpkin hummus, recipe. We hope you bring the family together and in true Sarah Glover style, crank those flames high, whether you have a Traeger grill or not and enjoy the freshest of this season’s produce, amongst loved ones.
