Australia’s rum reinvention continues with the release of Brix Distillers' new look Core Range of 100% Australian rums – five years in the making.
Sydney’s only dedicated craft rum distillery, Brix has been on a mission to reinvent Australian rum, challenging misconceptions and clichés of pirates, polar bears and tattoos and educating Aussies on how to best embrace rum – beginners or aficionados alike.
Housing three distinct spirits across their traditional rum range, Brix has now produced a premium rum crafted with Australian ingredients and matured in Sydney in local wine casks.
The Brix core range has been made for cocktail mixing but still holds its unique ability to maintain a complexity for those who prefer to drink it on the rocks, or even with their fave mixer. The all-new range is made up of three distinct products:
•Brix Australian Rum – aged in red wine casks for three years and bursting with flavour notes of pastry, baking spices and light oak, balanced with aromas of vanilla caramel and stonefruit.
•Brix Australian Spiced Rum – first aged in local red wine casks and infused with spice, fruit and nuts. Think pavlova, jaffas at the movies and fruit and nut chocolate, with a touch of sweetness and lingering depth of spice on the palate; it’s a dynamic duo of bold flavour and subtle smoothness.
•Brix Australian Cane Spirit – this one is for those with a lighter palate, crafted from premium Australian molasses and perfect for mojitos, daiquiris and pina coladas.
Best enjoyed neat or on the rocks, all three of the core range are also great for cocktail making.
