If you haven’t heard of it yet, the butter candle is the latest trend on TikTok’s culinary scene and you butter believe it! We look at three butter candles you could try at your next dinner party to pop on a charcuterie board or sop up the liquid with a crusty baguette.
It's quite simple actually - all you need to do is melt your butter with delicious ingredients, shape it into a cup or cylinder shape and pop a wick in the middle. You then refrigerate the vessel with the butter inside until it is quite hard.
When you are ready to WOW, get your candle out, light the wick and watch the butter drip its…butteryness. This would work best, if you fusion your butter with something ‘extra’. Try crushed macadamias and maple syrup. This would be a great combo for a breaky pancake platter.
Or, some chilli powder mixed into the butter before refrigerating, with a little garlic and thyme and mop with fresh crusty baguette.
