About 41 Degrees South Salmon & Ginseng Farm

41° South Salmon & Ginseng Farm is a unique tourist attraction near Launceston and Devonport. There is always something to see on the farm, from the picturesque views to their evolving product line. A stop over at their shop stocked full with their gourmet goodies and recent releases will guarantee an exit with your arms full. Their highly sought after quality hot-smoked salmon and ginseng has put the 41 Degrees South farms on the map. A 45 minute drive from Launceston brings you to their salmon farm, ginseng nursery and wetlands near Deloraine. They carved out the landscape in 1998; today the wetlands remain set along the western creek rivulet, acting as a natural biofilter for the salmon.

Magnificent smoked Salmon!

GO THERE!!! you won't be disappointed! The tasting plate lunch we had was excellent and thankfully we had a fridge in the car because we left with Salmon rillettes(eat them out of the tub, don't worry about biscuits!) salmon portions, whole smoked baby salmon, Ginseng spice mix (with native pepper), superb nougat and the taste of sample truffles lingering in our mouths. Host Ziggy is informative and keen to share his passion for what he does. There's a wetlands walk which we'll do on our much anticipated return to Tassie in October. Until then we'll have to order and wait for delivery.
