About Cowra Japanese Garden
Modelled upon the Imperial Gardens in Kyoto Japan, the Cowra Japanese Garden is the larges in the Southern Hemisphere, at 4.8 hectares. Tranquil and relaxing, the Garden features a myriad of plant and bird life, plus an extensive collection of Japanese art and artifacts. Created by Ken Nakajima, the multi award winning grounds showcase a panoramic scene of manicured hedges, peaceful flowing waterfalls, koi ponds and rocky hillsides, with an authentic open air tea house and a Bonsai house. In the cultural centre, observe the local and regional artwork, with a gallery dedicated to an extensive collection of Japanese artworks and artifacts.
