About Hinkler House
Under threat of demolition, the Southhampton home of aviator Bert Hinkler was dismantled brick by brick and brought out to Bundaberg in 1983. Standing proud ever since, Hinkler House was Bert's home from 1926 until his death in 1933, rebuilt as a memorial museum in his honour after its relocation. Hinkler House's vast collection of aviation materials celebrates Australian aviation and its many achievements in pioneering times. Restored replicas, original documents and photos and an original version of the five key aircraft are just some of the displays at Hinkler House, as well as a range of interactive exhibits and aircraft simulator.
