The Strand is a seaside foreshore located in Townsville, Australia. It is located in the suburb of North Ward. The Strand has a magnificent view of the Port of Townsville and Magnetic Island, as well as views stretching all the way out to Cape Cleveland.
Townsville's fantastic beachfront promenade, The Strand incorporates a jetty, recreational park, restaurants, cafes, a series of headlands, a free water park, picnic areas and swimming pools and enclosures.
What a lovely stretch to stroll down, I come here a few times in the week. Across from the memorial park there is a wonderful Gelato place, you simly cant walk past it without popping in. Itds a great place to take a book and read, just across from the first park there is a bench tucked away behind some bushes which is perfect to perch. Im working my way down the strand with coffee places and restaurants and im sure ill get to the end at some point. The Long Board is a great place to sit, have a drink and relax. There are so many things to do down here. Its littered with statues, historical facts, points of interest and wonderful for watching the world go by.
