Pink Lake

A salt lake situated near Esperance on WA's southern coastline, Pink Lake is, under the right weather conditions, a unique sweep of vibrant pink and purple, caused by high concentrations of salt tolerant algae - harmless, of course. Huge stockpiles of salt lie in abundance at Pink Lake, almost 100 percent of which is pure, harvested for the state's salt supply. Regardless of what colour it may appear, the sheer size and flat plain serenity of Pink Lake is a sight well enjoyed as a picnic destination or Esperance stopover.
