What's In Season For May

May signifies Autumn's impending departure in the lead up towards Winter and seasonal recipes this time of year are designed to be uplifting. It's also the month when we celebrate the women in our lives, with Mother's Day falling ritualistically on the second Sunday of May.

The leaves have played out their colourful dance and those snow bunnies among us start to dream of hitting the powder-filled slopes during the Winter months...

What's in Season for May

Mushrooms are renowned for their deep, earthy aroma and are ideal to accompany dishes during chillier weather – combined with beef brisket, potato gnocchi and leeks, they make a hearty family meal that is sure to satisfy even the most ravenous appetites.

With Mother in mind, why not cook her a meal to remember – perhaps starting with cauliflower, potato and leek soup; before charcoal roasted lamb rump, smoked eggplant and chilli bean paste and crumble with poached rhubarb for dessert.
