Nestled in Budds Beach just a short walk from Surfers Paradise, Bumbles Café on River Drive is many things to many people. For GC locals, it is a café they religiously visit each morning for a barista-brewed coffee at their favourite seat among other regulars; you can find the Blueroom filled with lawyers holding meetings, book club ladies lunching and midweek celebrations of all shapes and sizes. At the weekend, it is the place to catch up with friends over brunch plates of savoury mince, poached eggs, avocado, sour cream and toast, or housemade baked beans, onion, tomato, paprika, bacon and chipolata sausages. The lunch crowd devours tempura Moreton Bay bug sliders with spicy mayo and cos lettuce, or grilled miso salmon, with edamame, wakame, pickled ginger and buckwheat noodle salad.
