Matso’s Brewery on Hamersley Street in Broome is the country’s most remote brewery. Matso’s entices guests through the doors with rustic timber floors, oak barrels and artefacts from its days as a general store, along with beautiful views over Roebuck Bay. Sitting on the verandah with a cold ginger beer or a tasting paddle of five beer samples is highly recommended while pondering a menu which changes seasonally and has an Asian-inspired influence. Tuck into spicy chicken wings to start with sriracha mayo dipping sauce, or Exmouth prawns and nam pla prik sauce, paired with a Mango Beer; or choose an Angus beef burger with lettuce, tomato, bacon and burger sauce. Perhaps braised lamb shank and whipped sweet potato hit the mark; finish with cinnamon crème brûlée and pistachio biscotti.
