As the elephant is a Thai national symbol, it's no surprise that Nine Elephants restaurant on Bourke Street in Docklands is abundant with choice dishes including all your favourite cuisine from Thailand, contemporary, and vegetarian options. Newly relocated to light, bright and breezy premises, take a seat at black tables under the watchful gaze of a colourful elephant mural on the wall while a bright pink neon sign adds a funky touch, as you peruse a varied menu sure to tempt all palates. Perhaps start with deep-fried battered soft-shell crab, fried noodles, onion and spicy sauce; before roast duck red curry, with coconut milk, pineapple, lychee, green beans, zucchini, eggplant and basil leaves. Don’t go past satay chicken, stir-fried vegetables, steamed jasmine rice and roti bread.
