What more can you say about Moorebank Estate other than ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. We have had tastings at many wineries in the Hunter, Barossa Valley & several New Zealand wineries but Moorebank is by far the best experience we have ever had. I am a huge fan of their Chardonnay, Merlot & the list goes on. My parents live in Queensland but have also visited Moorebank several times, they now requested cases when we visit them. Definately worth a trip to visit.
My wife and I just love Moorebank wines, it has become our favourite winery in the Hunter. I beleive that the Merlot is the best in the Vally and the Sparkling Merlot is second to none. If you appreciate a hand made white - you must try the chardonay. A wine tasting at Moorebank is not a hurried affair and can be very entertaining with Ian's infectious nature and knowledge of wine. Deb's condiments are a must to try and among our favourites are the onion condiment and the country garden pickles. A visit to Moorebank should be a "must do".
I love Moorebank wines and really appreciate that low levels of preservatives are used. I can now drink their wonderful whites without aggravating my asthma. I also respect Ian and Deb for trying to limit their impact on the environment by running the vineyard along sustainable lines. I particularly love the gerwertz late harvest traminer and "The Sons'" sparkingly merlot. "The Press Room" SCG is a very easy to drink white.
Moorebank Private Vineyard is our favourite 'drop in', great hospitality with hosts Deb and Ian, excellent wines to enjoy and Deb has come up with a wide range of condiments to add to the enjoyment of the occasion, our favourite is the Spicey Grape Sauce. Our perfect night in, Moorebank wines, add the moreish condiments and soak in a hot bath with their Lavender foaming bath oil.
I must say we have fallen in love with Moorebanks Late Harvest Semillon. A lovely sweet white with little bite. Our family winner is the home made lemonade. Well done we love to visit Moorebank estate. Julie O
