The people have spoken and the hits are here to stay! Menzies Bar is excited to announce that their recently launched classic pasta series ‘The Hits’ is back for lunch, by popular demand beginning Monday, August 21.
The first round of the 12-week pasta series, which featured a different $25 pasta special each week, is back with 11 new dishes and the return of a crowd favourite - the lobster ravioli - which sold out every day. Crafted by Culinary Director Joel Bickford and his team, the series features classic pasta dishes on a new 12-week menu roster marking the start of the $25 pasta special becoming a permanent fixture on the Menzies menu from 12pm to 3pm, weekdays.
Taglioni cuttlefish, chilli, squid ink, nettle.
Restaurateur Brett Robinson says: "We’ve been blown away by the interest in our special, the pick up has been incredible and a true representation of what Sydneysiders were after in the CBD. It has really connected everyone to the Menzies as their centre of gravity in the city, either day or night and opened up the Menzies to those looking for affordable, delicious and quality, handmade pasta.
"Just like our Martini Hour ($10 martinis and lobster rolls) that Menzies has become famous for, we want The Hits to become a part of the fabric of the venue,” continues Brett.
The menu includes dishes such as crab and macaroni gratin, taglioni with cuttlefish, chilli squid ink, nettle wild mushroom mafaldine, black truffle fregola puttanesca, smoked ricotta lasagne, beetroot pappardelle, duck, mushroom, smoked cream and bucatini cacio e pepe.

Of the first Hits program, Culinary Director Joel Bickford says they hand-rolled more than 4000 raviolis in a week as a labour of love. It’s fair to say in round two, it will be the biggest seller again. With crab and macaroni gratin and lasagne, there are a lot more bell ringers in this round!
