Some dishes just scream Summer and alfresco dining! With most of us still in holiday vibe mode, entertaining should be as easy as getting together with family and friends over a vibrant and delicious meal, enjoyed with a favourite glass of wine, ice-cold beer or cheeky cocktail.
The talented culinary experts at Winning Appliances, Australia’s leading kitchen and laundry specialist, have put together stunning recipes that are perfect for any social occasion during the warmer months – from mains to salads and desserts.
In the last of three articles, we dish up three desserts sure to tempt and delight the most discerning palates:
This is a refreshingly tangy dessert with luscious frozen lemon cream and crispy coconut honey wafers. The semifreddo mixture can be frozen in individual moulds. Store any leftover coconut wafers in an air-tight container for up to three days – they are great to enjoy with tea or coffee. The fruit used can be varied for what’s in season; prepare and freeze before adding as the frozen pieces will distribute better through the egg mixture.
This beautiful, tender and light-as-air cake is just right for lazy Summer days – teamed perfectly with mango and Chantilly cream. This cake freezes very well in an air-tight container for up to three months; remove to thaw in the fridge overnight.
These delicious, individual pavlovas embrace the flavours of Summer – light, tangy and creamy, they are a real dessert treat. The pavlova bases can be made a day in advance and stored in an air-tight container; the passionfruit curd can be made seven days in advance and stored in a jar in the fridge. This recipe makes a generous quantity, keep some to serve with scones or on a sponge cake with cream.
