Organic wine production in Australia is growing rapidly, with some of the country’s most well-known winemakers supporting the movement.
Sales of these wines have been rising steadily since 2012 while exports of organic and biodynamic wines grew by more than 50% from 2016-2019.
Organic wine is made without pesticides or herbicides on the vines or soil; production can use traditional farming methods, some synthetic sprays and fertilisers, modern technology and environmentally-conscious approaches.
As we showcase local farms and local flavours this week, here are five organic wines, which are also suitable for vegans, to tempt your palate:

Rosecco is See Saw’s sell-out Prosecco and Pinot Noir blend. Australia’s first organic rosé Prosecco, this sparkling is a dashing pink colour, bursting with fun florals, crisp green apple, red berries and zippy citrus.
Strawberries and a background of red delicious apple complement classic lemon sherbet and green pear from the Prosecco. The palate has red berries and crunchy apple delight, finishing crisp and dry making this Rosecco a joy to drink!

This sparkling is an elegant Blanc de Noir made from Cabernet Sauvignon in a Brut style. Blanc de Noir denotes a white sparkling made from black or red grapes; in traditional Champagne, the red grapes are Pinot Noir or Pinot Meuniere, so Cabernet is an unusual variety to use.
This bubbles is a must-try with a distinctive pale pink colour, aromas and flavours of citrus peel and red fruit, along with yeast-nutty notes.

Light in colour, this is a soft Pinot Noir with raspberry, cherry, mixed spices and a subtle earthy note. There are real Pinot Noir characters evident making it very flavoursome and morerish.
Dark fruited with soft tannins, this red is perfect on its own or with food, particularly a dish such as confit duck on baby lentils, or a hearty steak.

Pale straw in colour, the nose entices with citrus, pear and some tropical notes such as pineapple. The palate is fresh with bright acid and a slightly viscous texture from the malo fermentation, revealing stone fruit flavours with a hint of cashew nut and vanilla.
This Chardonnay finishes dry with a gentle grip that cleanses your palate – great drinking!

Crystal clear with a faint gold hue, this Pinot Grigio has aromas of honeysuckle, pear and white nectarine to lead to a palate that flows from these notes and combines them in a delicate, refreshingly crisp wine.
This drop is the perfect partner for fresh Niçoise salad, or Sichuan-style Asian greens stir-fry with crispy tofu.
