The intricate tapestry of the Asia-Pacific (APAC) travel landscape has emerged as a powerhouse in the travel sector, captivating millions of travellers with its diverse cultures, breathtaking landscapes and vibrant economies.

Across the 8000 individuals from 11 countries and territories it surveyed, the report offers invaluable insights into the mindsets of APAC travellers and the profound impact of economic and global uncertainties on their travel decisions.

Here are the most significant findings you need to know that Aussies are looking for in 2023:

  • 57% are looking for captivating scenery and nature. 
  • 53% are prioritising food and dining experiences.
  • 53% of Aussies still opt for the feeling of home with the sunny beach and island style. 
  • 44% are looking to visit famous tourist attractions and landmarks.
  • 42% are immersing themselves in the local culture or lifestyle.

The new research conducted by Booking.com has presented a snapshot of how confident consumers feel about travel, their motivations and interests. Its clear Aussies are feeling the pressure of the cost of living, with financial concerns ranking highest amongst travel concerns (51%). Despite this, most Aussie travellers (65%) remain optimistic about their future travel plans in the next 12 months. Where do you rank within the figures above?
