Mixologist Paul Summers recommends sipping a Rudimentary Passenger cocktail next time you are looking for a new drink to tantalise taste buds:
"The food at Elementary by Soul Co is centred around fresh, locally sourced produce, drawing from a variety of culinary influences,” he explains. "The Rudimentary Passenger exemplifies this by combining Australian liquor with Japanese Yuzushu sake, creating a light and refreshing beverage that stands out on its own while also, pairing seamlessly with the dishes at Elementary by Soul Co.
"The Rudimentary Passenger was developed by accident as we set out to create an interpretation of the cocktail - Japanese Slipper.”
Initially challenged by the search for a small-batch Australian substitute for Midori, Paul stumbled upon Marionette's array of liquors, which sparked the creation of a unique twist on the classic Sidecar cocktail. The name ‘Rudimentary Passenger’ playfully hints at its essence as an elementary version of the sidecar.
