Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!
You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.
What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant? Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.
Welcome to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.
Embracing a paddock-to-plate philosophy, Water St Kitchen restaurant delivers big, bold flavours to Walkervale diners. This popular Bundaberg catering company is now based in light, airy surroundings on Water Street, where floral wallpaper and fresh flowers await dine-in guests while perusing a casual Mod Oz menu.
Mixologist, Justin Pratt recommends trying the Red Rover cocktail on your next visit:
"Like the spirited game it’s named after, our Red Rover cocktail beckons a crowd to gather and join in the fun,” he says. "With its vibrant hue mirroring the excitement of the game, we’ve crafted this cocktail with gatherings in mind, making it an ideal choice for a first-round drink, kicking off the weekend, or igniting the night ahead.”
Made with raspberries – fresh or frozen – gin, lemon juice, elderflower cordial and sugar syrup, topped up with sparkling water, this drink is sure to become a cocktail favourite.
"The cocktail was born out of a desire to hero a farming family that moved to Bundaberg to grow raspberries, that has been largely successful and continues to have a place on our menu,” Justin explains.
Cheers…
