They say Rome wasn’t built in a day, but Italian food emporium Brunetti Classico says its Christmas gingerbread can be constructed and decorated in a matter of hours.
Fabio Angele, owner of Brunetti Classico, says this festive season Melburnians are invited to style gingerbread at its flagship store on Lygon Street, Carlton.
"This is the first time we’ve run gingerbread decorating classes for both adults and children in the leadup to Christmas,” he explains. "For the adults, we will have ‘Build and Sip’ sessions. Participants will be tasked with constructing a gingerbread house and styling it with Christmas treats, while enjoying an Italian-style refreshment and an aperitivo.”
The sessions for adults will run every Friday and Saturday night from 7 pm-9 pm and are ideal for a catch-up with friends, family or colleagues.
The cost of a ticket will be $70 pp and will include an alcoholic refreshment, aperitivo, materials and instructor. Classes will commence from Friday, November 29 and run through to Saturday, December 21.
The gingerbread decorating classes for children aged two to 10 years will be walk-in sessions and run every Saturday 2 pm-5 pm and Sunday 10 am-1 pm. Parents and/or guardians of children must attend all times during the session to supervise their child or children.
Materials will be provided and the cost will be $13.90 per child.
"We hope these classes inspire the inner Pro Hart or da Vinci in all participants,” says Fabio.
