What’s better than chocolate? Double the chocolate!
That’s what Haigh’s Chocolates is doing in its brand-new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Adelaide commencing this December. The future $130 million chocolate factory will allow Haigh’s to double production capacity in its new European-made and equipped kitchens fully decked with specialised panning, enrobing and moulding lines to enhance chocolate capabilities.
What does that mean for us chocolate lovers? Just focus on the ‘double the chocolate capacity’ factor. Although equally important is that this future growth means 250 new jobs will be created in the new and long term. Haigh’s has grown substantially over its 108-year history, now employing more than 800 people and currently already producing 1000 tonnes of chocolate, ready to be posted to wherever you live in Australia or available to purchase at one of its 21 stores located in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra.
Established in 1915, Haigh’s Chocolates is the oldest family-owned chocolate maker in Australia. The company is run by the fourth generation of the Haigh family and prides itself on being a chocolate ‘bean to bar’ specialist, committed to the art of premium chocolate making. Haigh’s roasts its own cocoa beans, ethically sourced from plantations around the world, to create a unique blend of premium milk and dark chocolate.
We know this chocolate factory would get Charlie’s seal of approval.
