Vinabar Brings 60 Lanterns from Vietnam in New MicroBar Opening

Renowned for its well-preserved architecture, vibrant lantern-lit streets and a rich blend of historical influences from Chinese, Japanese and European cultures, UNESCO World Heritage status Hoi An was the dominant inspiration behind the microbar, Vinabar.

Vinabar is a new intimate Vietnamese-inspired microbar which has just opened in the enchanting laneways of Kent Street, Sydney inviting you to step into a world where tradition meets contemporary elegance.

Drawing upon their travels together throughout Vietnam and Southeast Asia, owners Reymark Tesalona (owner of Baby Rey’s Burgers) and Ashwin Arumugam (Equicentia), come together for the first time in a culinary adventure collaboration.

Reymark, who is a Chef by trade, curated the inventive cocktail list and small food selection, to provide diners with a menu that transcends all barriers and uses all human senses, rather than just taste.

This is made apparent upon first sight when you arrive and find a discreet steel door cleverly disguised as a banh mii cart. Sophisticated, tasteful and exuding the bustling charm of the Vietnamese streets, Vinabar unveils itself behind this, within the confines of a location no more than two car spaces big.

What truly brings it to its full Vietnamese styling is the 60 lanterns, each imported from Hoi An, within the dark and intimate setting creating a special space for those seeking intimate conversations and connection.

In addition to a rotating fortnightly special cocktail, Vinabar proudly presents a selection of signature concoctions. Standouts include the ‘Vinagroni’ a pecan wood-smoked Negroni and the 'Ca Phe Martini', a Vietnamese-style twist on the classic Espresso Martini. Each sip is a journey through distinctive flavours and innovative combinations.

Step off the streets of Sydney and open the banh mi door to Vinabar, immersing yourself in an atmosphere that beautifully embodies Vietnam’s hospitality and vibrant nightlife.
