Asian fusion dishes for all tastes are what you’ll find at Dada on Furzer Street in Phillip. This stylish Canberra restaurant takes its name from the Korean word ‘da’ meaning ‘all’ and delivers on all fronts from the simplistic vibe of black stools to perch on at the bar, to concrete pillars and a polished concrete floor.
Why should you drop in for a meal at Dada? Here are three good reasons:
What’s your most popular dish/drink:
Lemongrass pork – imagine a flat but thick, moist and flavourful meatball, on a plate with a load of rice vermicelli salad, nuoc cham, Thai basil, mint, shiso leaves, coriander, crunchy bean sprouts and cashew nuts.
Our must-try drink is our Yuzu Martini – Four Pillars fresh yuzu gin, Dolin dry vermouth, Maideneii dry vermouth and orange bitters; a bright, crisp and fruity cocktail to refresh your palate.
What's your point of difference:
At Dada (‘Da’ means ‘all’ in Korean), we aim to plate all for all. Guests can expect to enjoy a broad range of Asian flavours in one sitting, from Korea, Japan, China, Thailand and more.
Our menu spans plates from snack bites to Korean fried chicken with housemade traditional sweet chilli sauce and crispy lotus chips and smoky hot stir-fried chilli pipis.
The accessibility of our menu for specific dietary requirements is also our goal for offering ‘Da’- all.
The constant idea of serving ‘all’ sits behind the scene - our Chef is hunting international condiments from importers that contain no wheat - it is not what we need to do but what we want to do, to cater to those with special requirements.
What is a fun fact that not many people know about the restaurant?
Desserts should not be missed at Dada - Chef insists the best way to finish the meal is by having a good dessert. Dada’s Vietnamese coffee banoffee pie with strong coffee, rich caramel and light, fluffy whipped cream is inspired by Vietnamese iced coffee, warm Asian red date pudding and housemade vanilla gelato is without a doubt one of the desserts many diners are amused by.
Dada has a minimalist design - beautiful sheer curtains drop from ceiling to floor, extending a comfortable vibe to diners. The first sight when entering Dada are wines that we confidently present on float shelves on a white wall, elevating the flavours of our food and the wine.
