What’s your must-try popular dish/drink:
Our must-try dishes would definitely be the ceviche and the rump cap steak with bone marrow - both are bursting with flavour and reflect the essence of our menu. On the drinks side, Cony's Margarita is a standout. It’s a drink I brought over from my other venue because it’s such a crowd favourite. People absolutely love it and it’s become part of our identity.
What's your point of difference:
Our point of difference lies in our deep cultural roots and passion for innovation. I’m from Osorno (near Patagonia) in the south of Chile, where we express love and appreciation through cooking and sharing meals. I’ve always had an immense love for food and experimenting with flavours.
At Nikkita, we bring something unique to the table with Nikkei cuisine - a beautiful fusion of Peruvian and Japanese influences, which I believe is one of the best culinary combinations. This, combined with having a Michelin-starred Japanese Chef on board, allows us to elevate these flavours and create an incredible menu that’s both bold and refined.
What is a fun fact that not many people know about the restaurant?
Not many people know that Nikkita is a female-owned venue. While my other venue is well-known in the Shire, Nikkita is a completely new adventure for me in a place where I don’t have the same connections. Starting from scratch has been a challenge, but it’s one I’ve embraced wholeheartedly. I may not have decades of experience as some business owners do, but I have an unwavering passion for what I do, my team and our customers. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built here and excited to share it with more people.
