Mardi Gras Meets Yum Cha with Mardi Cha!

The iconic 2025 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival kicked off last Friday and will run until March 2 celebrating 47 years of unforgettable moments.

Expect international performers, parties, theatre, community events and more with the festival wrapping up with the world-famous Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday, March 1.

The 2025 theme of ‘Free to be’ is a celebration of the strides toward LGBTQIA+ equality while also acting as a global reminder the fight is far from over and that people are not truly free until everyone is free to be.

Mardi Gras Meets Yum Cha with Mardi Cha!

The Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre is bringing a fabulous twist to its monthly yum cha with Mardi Cha! Hosted by the incredible Jackie Daniels and friends, this event on March 1-2 is the perfect way to get into the Mardi Gras spirit while enjoying a delicious yum cha feast.

When Mardi Gras meets Yum Cha - welcome to Mardi Cha! On Saturday this is the ultimate pre-game feast before one of Sydney’s biggest nights. Join the gang from 11 am to 4 pm for a yum cha experience with a Mardi Gras twist.

Because Sunday is about the chill-out, Mardi Cha returns in a more relaxed form. Whether you’re in recovery mode or debriefing the night before, enjoy $12 Bloody Marys and a vinyl DJ spinning lo-fi tunes from 4 pm till late.
