The Marrickville Tavern on Marrickville Road in Sydney has unveiled its new look raising the bar for locals and sports enthusiasts.
To officially mark the occasion, the venue is hosting a Super Bowl LIX Party on Monday, February 10 with a trivia post-match session, drink and food specials and the chance to win a replica Patrick Mahomes Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl champions jersey.
Sporting a complete glow-up, this small-but-mighty, legendary watering hole is embracing its storied legacy which has served the community since 1884, delivering a distinctly modern sports bar vibe proudly cheers-ing to ‘Pies, Pints and Punting’.
Sports memorabilia including an IBF World Championship belt signed by Kostya Tzsyu adorns the walls and a full-sized pool table takes pride of place below state-of-the-art 3-metre LED screens with a Bose sound system and subwoofers.
There are also 10 screens throughout the venue that will show all sports – with a priority on televising female sport – live and loud 24/7.
On the pass, guests can grab a hearty pie such as pepper steak, red wine lamb shank, chicken, leek and mushroom, plus a pint of beer for just $16 all week; while pre-game $7 beer and house wines are available from 4 pm-6 pm Monday-Friday, along with post-match $15 Margaritas and Negronis from 9 pm-11 pm on Friday and Saturdays.
When it comes to drinks, renowned beverage consultant, Brendan Hill has curated a lineup of well-priced cocktails including Espresso Martinis, Old-fashioneds and MT Palomas.
