"Whatever one you fancy, all of these Winter wines are the perfect accompaniment for a quiet movie night or dinner party and will impress your guests with a hig- quality drop without an expensive price tag.”

This Pinot is fresh and fruit-driven with layers of complex flavours. Sourced from the cooler mountain sites in the Languedoc region of France, this wine is elegant, yet rich and juicy with expressive hints of raspberry and dark cherry.

Truly Wildly McLaren Vale Nero D’Avolo 2022 (SA) $13.99:

This wine is a contemporary offer just in time for Winter and for those that haven’t had this varietal, it drinks similarly to a Pinot Noir in style. Made by the highly acclaimed Alberto Antonini, one of the world’s top consultant winemakers, this wine has an intense ruby-red hue with plums, Campari herbs and mountain flowers on the nose and black fruits filling the palate. This is a great drop on its own or is a perfect accompaniment to a cheeseboard and pizza night!

Mount Langi Ghiran ‘Pepper Series’ Shiraz 2022 (Vic) $15.99:

Mount Langi in Victoria’s Grampian region is recognised as one of the great pioneers of cool climate Shiraz in Australia and this wine boasts everything Aussies have come to expect from a Grampians wine – vibrant and juicy, bursting with wild forest red fruit and classic pepper and spice. This is a premium wine and drinks as if it has a much higher price point – a must-try!

Say cheese…there is no such thing as a good wine tasting without an accompanying cheeseboard. Jason recommends pairing these ALDI cheese options with the above wines:

Emporium Selection goat’s cheese original, Emporium Selection ash brie, Emporium Selection crumbed camembert with cranberry dip, Emporium Selection smooth blue, Emporium Selection aged cheddar and French L’Ovale cheese.

Cheers and you’re welcome…
