Italian foodies looking to push the boundaries of tradition will head to Sofia’s Restaurant & Bar on Monday, March 3 to discover unconventional flavours and wines.
In partnership with Pasqua Wines – known as the House of the Unconventional – Sofia’s will deliver a four-course feast paired with award-winning Italian wines.
General Manager, David Sharp says after the success of the restaurant’s first Taste of Italy event, it was decided to team up with Pasqua for the second dinner.

"Pasqua’s motto is down to an ambition to create the best possible wines they can, whether they stick to the Italian rules or not,” he says.
"On the night, we will be joined by the Export Manager, Gianni Del Bene, all the way from Veneto to showcase three of Pasqua’s iconic wines, amongst others. Pasqua’s attitude to wine can be summed up by ‘Hey French! You could have made this but you didn’t’.”
To pair with the wines, Sofia’s has gone ‘unconventional’ itself, curating a menu of ‘Italian’ classics, all with a twist, with each dish carefully crafted to bring out the best in the wines and create a taste sensation.
The menu is:
Caprese salad, served with Pasqua Prosecco Rosé.
Tartare, with Pasqua 11 Minutes Roseé and ‘Y’ Rosé.
Lasagne, with Passione Sentimento Bianco.
Profiteroles, matched with Lui Cabernet, which is aged in cognac barrels.
