Wine of the Week – Savannah Estate 2021 Hunter Valley Tempranillo.

Tempranillo is a red grape variety that is primarily grown in Spain but has also gained popularity in other wine regions, including Australia's Hunter Valley.

If you are looking to try your first drop of this vintage or a connoisseur seeking something new, look no further than Savannah Estate 2021 Hunter Valley Tempranillo.

This grape is known for producing wines that are medium to full-bodied, with moderate tannins and acidity - the 2021 Hunter Valley Tempranillo exhibits aromas of dark fruit, such as blackberry and plum, as well as secondary notes of leather and tobacco.

On the palate, it is rich and velvety, with flavours of dark fruit, vanilla and oak; the tannins should be firm but not overpowering, providing structure to the wine's body. The finish may be long and persistent, with lingering notes of spice and fruit.

Pair this delicious red with a Friday night prawn and chorizo pizza, lamb shanks with creamy garlic mash, or pulled pork sliders; it can also be cellared for 5-7 years.
