A landmark on Perth’s live music scene, Universal Bar is also one of the city’s most popular function venues. Styled after a New Orleans jazz bar, this classy Northbridge institution draws a mostly 30-something crowd with live music every night, plus award-winning cocktails and a quality menu. It all makes for a lively yet laidback atmosphere – perfect for catching a gig, hosting a party or just kicking back on the upstairs terrace with a drink poured by some of Perth’s finest bartenders. The beer and wine list are certainly not to be passed up, as is an inventive cocktail list; try a Naked Barman – Ketel One Citroen vodka, passionfruit liqueur, orange, pineapple juice and vanilla – paired with a Tennessee southern fried chicken burger with coleslaw, aioli and a side of loaded Cajun fries.
