About Becco Restaurant

A legend on Melbourne’s iconic Italian dining scene, Becco Restaurant on Crossley Street in the heart of the city delivers on all fronts. Offering outside seating down the New York-style laneway, inside also exudes a buzzy vibe with warm lighting for intimate occasions, modern Italian fare and an extensive wine list. Take a seat at the bar for a cheeky cocktail, before heading to one of the white-clothed tables in the dining room, where an open kitchen offers glimpses of Chefs hard at work dishing up authentic temptations. Start with scallop crudo, salmon roe, spring onion and citrus dressing, before veal saltimbocca, prosciutto, Parmesan, sage and white wine reduction, or orecchiette pasta, pork and fennel sausage and broccoli. For a divine dolci, try panna cotta, berries and honeycomb.

Quality produce and talented chefs along with attentive and efficient service make Becco one of Melbourne's leading restaurants. Forget the pretention of other so called leading restaurants, Becco provides all that is best in modern Italian cooking.

The calamari salad entree was great. The serving sizes above average. I had the aged steak for main, which should of fallen apart. But it didn't. It was tough and in the end proved too much of an effort to eat. But over all it was ok. The other mains were more impressive.
