A hole in the wall, but as soon as you step in, you are morphed into a 50’s bar lacking only singers like Piaf. Chester White is one of the funkiest and hippiest eateries that I have been for a while. It took us 20minutes to secure 2 seats on a Friday night. A cheerful and friendly barman suggested Negroni to start. The menu is kept simple but with stunning food. We shared 3 dishes i.e. pork ribs, seared lamb and ricotta meatball in tomato ragu (which was a truly sensational vegetarian dish). All dishes are priced reasonably. Chester White differentiated itself as a new breed of café / diner with modern Australian fused with the touch of an Asian chef. A small place but it was an electrifying experience overall.
