About Fred Eatery
Fresh, approachable, flavour-driven fare utilising locally sourced produce is what you’ll find on the menu at Fred Eatery on Mount Barker Road in Aldgate. This Adelaide Hills dining destination rocks a green vibe of potted plants, a vivid green staircase and accents, setting a calm zen for enjoying all-day brunch and lunch. Early risers delve into Indian eggs – lightly spiced, scrambled eggs with roti, roasted cumin, yoghurt, green tomato and eggplant relish – or Malaysian bang bang - barbequed chicken satay, lime leaf risotto cake, coconut and peanut dressing, mint and coriander coleslaw and a soft fried egg. A lively lunch crowd enjoys Squidly Diddly – Thai-style barbeque squid salad, razor, noodles, fried garlic, pickled green mango and papaya salad, with sweet, salty and sour dressing.

Go for breakfast and you shall return
FRED Eatery Restaurant/Cafe has recently changed hands, was called Aldgate Providore hence the name change to Fred Eatery. There are a number comfortable dining areas, upstairs in the lounge, an alfresco area front and back, with a good area for your pet dog. The table options are good and can be well utilised. The interior is warm and welcoming. On a recommendation from a friend we were told to try the breakfast, we did just that. We both enjoyed a tremendous well prepared breakfast, and as a result we have returned to this Cafe/Restaurant, on a number of occasions. The coffee is good, the service is excellent, they are understandably very busy. Their breakfast could be the Best in the Hills.
