About Hanuman
For traditional Thai, Indian and Nonya, all in one place, go no further than Hanuman on Mitchell Street in the heart of Darwin. Part of the Holiday Inn Esplanade complex, this modern Asian restaurant boasts a magnificent alfresco dining area and stylish cocktail bar, while the décor has been sourced from around the world adding to the truly exotic experience. Start with house specialty oysters with vivid tastes of lemongrass, sweet basil, ginger, chilli and coriander, or satay chicken with roasted peanut sauce; move on to larger plates of red duck curry, with coconut, sweet basil, kaffir lime, lychees, fresh pineapple and a side of steamed jasmine rice. Those who like a hit of heat opt for beef vindaloo with cinnamon, cloves and garam masala; cool things down with kulfi ice cream.

Cont... Of being away and am a little disappointed, food is not as good and service has declined
Ate here every month for 5 years when I lived in Darwin. Have returned after 2 years if being aw
Very expensive but the food was lovely.
Excellent, as always, the different spices so skillfully blended together, each unique yet complimentary, wonderful food, great service and decor, one of, if not, Darwin's best
Jimmy Shu is an excellent restratuer and The Hanuman isbrilliant evidence of this.
If you are ever in Darwin make sure you go to this restaurant. Must have dishes to try are the Hanuman Oysters and the Butter Chicken which is done tandoori style and like no other butter chicken - it is delicious. Their garlic naan is also great for mopping up the sauces.
Fantastic food. Highly recommended.
The best - you've got to try it!
By the time we dined at Hanuman we were just about 'seafood-ed out' so chose beef & chicken curries and steamed rice as our mains. They were very good - but the outstanding dish (both presentation and flavour) were the highly recommended Hanuman 'baked' oysters (entree) incorporating lemongrass, coriander, chilli - served on a circular earthen-ware dish with individual self contained 'oyster size bowls' each covered with 'tagine shaped' lids. Taste - amazing! Presentation - unexpected!
