About La Poele
Created with courageous ambition to serve up a modern European restaurant to Melburnians and visitors to explore their taste buds, La Poêle on High Street in Windsor delivers on all fronts. A stylish black frontage with alfresco tables for people watching gives way to a welcoming interior of polished wood, trailing greenery, wine racks and the lively buzz of conversation as friends catch up over drinks. Offering European flavours, seasonal produce and French culinary techniques, expect to delve into menu choices like pan-seared scallops, fennel purée, lemon and orange compote to start. For a memorable main, try confit duck leg, bean stew, lardons, brunoise of vegetables and crispy kale; finishing with a signature The Peach dessert of white chocolate mousse, macadamia praline and peach gel.

La Poole was a new restaurant to us. A VERY attractive restaurant. The service from Ratana was outstanding. Lamb and a seafood linguini fabulous. We shall be back many, many times. A perfect dinner. Thank you.
Absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection.
Outstanding service and exceptional food!
I don’t often write reviews, however the exceptional service and outstanding standard of our meal made it impossible not to write a review.
From the moment we walked in, we were attended to immediately and greeted with a warm hello and smile.
The guy was beyond brilliant, attentive, helpful, friendly, efficient and delivered on the smallest of details to make it a wonderful evening.
The food recommendation was on point, and our food was of the highest quality and presentation.
I honestly could not fault this place.
I know it’s been such a struggle for businesses after Covid so I wanted to write this review, to encourage anyone wanting to support a wonderful business and enjoy a brilliant experience, to come and experience this place.
You won’t be disappointed!!
Warm the cockles …
I’ve been wanting to try this little local for a while now, and after another dinner booking last night went awry, I called La Poele and they were able to fit us in. We were after something a bit special and our wish was granted in spades! We were guided through the atmospheric downstairs section, which was full, and taken to a cosy, homely upstairs dining room. We only went for main course, simply because we didn’t feel like more than one course. I went for the lamb, which was a generous portion of rack, on top of an equally generous mound of mash, with a crispy shard of well seasoned kale and a blob of delicious condiment. My sister chose the Black Angus steak, which was also cooked to perfection and accompanied by a decent serving of fries. The service was impeccable and we couldn’t have been happier. I can’t wait to return!
A truly fine dining in a friendly atmosphere
The whole experience was amazing, delicious European food, relaxing ambience, and friendly service.
A meal to remember
Our experience at La Poêle was definitely one to remember. The atmosphere, staff and food were all fantastic and made this a comfortable and enjoyable place to meet with friends.
An excellent experience
Our meal at La Poele was a delight. From the moment we walked in, we were looked after so well by the team. The food was outstanding and we really enjoyed the Peach dessert in particular. A true neighbourhood gem.
Every Plate is Superb
Modern French Cuisine at it's very best. My friend and I ate here on 29/04/21 for her significant birthday. We drooled and savoured each course (3) with delight and joy. We felt and tasted 'the love' from Jaysen's kitchen. Well priced and a lovely wine list. Our Maitre'D was courteous but not very attentive (our only 'not so good'). Recommend that you try for yourself!
