Expect superb food memories from the freshest local Tasmanian produce at new destination on the Launceston block, Luz Restaurant on Tamar Street. Nestled in the historic Grand Hotel, casual fine dining awaits in surrounds of booth and intimate table settings, plush carpet and softly glowing lights overhead, while large windows offer relaxing vistas while enjoying a glass of wine. Chef Louis has worked in some of the top Michel-starred restaurants around the world and has returned to home soil to offer diners entrée choices such as seared scallops, with variations of cauliflower; or pork belly, apple, braised cabbage and pickles. For a mesmerising main, devour braised ox cheek, soft polenta and red wine jus, or seafood linguine, with prawns, scallops, mussels, fish, chilli and garlic.
