Finding Oasis By The River was somewhat of a fluke. Just happened to find it during research on the Internet. We were warmly welcomed on arrival. The staff were friendly and treated us as though we have been there a number of times before even though this was our first time. I love a restaurant with an open kitchen as this was. A good variety of food including a couple of unusual choices which we had. Fingerl Line Oysters and Bloidy Mary Oysters, just beautiful and the best Bloidy Mary mix we have ever had. Goat shank was mouthwateringly, falling off the bone. Just great. Karen had a Scotch Fillet with salad. The fillet was cooked exactly as it was ordered and she loved it. I had the Confit Duck with Pork Belly and could eat this every time we go there and love it. Would suggest ordering this with the mixed vegetables but I am a big eater. The Baked Cheesecake special was just that, special. Excellent value for money. Would we go back when we are in the area next. Absolutely.
Had an amazing night at Oasis by the River yesterday evening. My husband and I are on our honeymoon and wanted somewhere special to dine: Oasis by the River delivered. We had a lot of trouble deciding what to eat, as the menu looked so good. We ended up with the Tapas plate for entree (absolutely to die for: includes pork belly, salt & pepper squid, oysters, scallops, prawns and chicken breast. All were brilliant, but the scallops were some of the best I have ever tasted). For main course we chose the beef fillet and the pork belly, both were melt-in-the-mouth, perfectly cooked, and joyously savoured. We had been told to leave room for dessert, and are so glad we did. The Chocolate Marquise with Baileys and Macadamia Ice Cream was served with strawberries, and it was everything I imagined it wuld be. I am a true chocolate-lover, and this did not disappoint: rich and velvety, and perfectly matched with the ice cream. I HIGHLY recommend this option My husband had the Blood Orange Creme Brulee, and loved it (so much that he ate it all before I could try it). The staff were wonderful, their customer service excellent, and the wine list was great (including local wines: the Bago Chamborcin was brilliant with the Pork Belly and Beef Fillet). We can also recommend trying the locally brewed boutique beers available. All in all, this is a brilliant restaurant and if you are visiting the Camden Haven or Port Macquarie areas, or you're a local looking for a good night out, you should definitely give Oasis By the River a try.
I recently dined at Oasis by the River and highly recommend the service, food and location. The staff were very friendly, the chef came to speak with us and the food just melted in your mouth. My children were also well catered for. Parking was a breeze even with our camper trailer directly across from the restaurant. Anyone travelling or living around this area it is definately well worth the experience.
