Literally 'Next Door'
One, if not the best cafés in Cronulla is, without a doubt, a café simply called “Next Door”. Next Door is located at the beach end of Kingsway and literally ‘next door’ from where we stayed at. It was recommended by locals. We started off, on this rainy morning, with a very traditional cappuccino and a café latte. Perhaps preferred with more salad rather than a hash brown, the eggs benedict came with poached eggs and spinach, the hash brown and chive hollandaise and smoked salmon. Being not a friend of English muffins, imaginably, sourdough bread might have also been a preferred option to be offered to customers. Sonoma bread is on the menu even though Groundbake bakery is up the road. Wasn’t there a trend to source locally!
Other than that, the eggs benedict was delightful. We also had their French toast brulee with vanilla ice cream, cinnamon sugar, maple syrup, a generous serving of blueberries topped up with crème anglaise. What an enchanting start to a new day - all of this served by a highly observant staff right at Cronulla’s beach. Outstandingly done, Next Door.
