Joining the vibrant dining precinct of East Brunswick’s Lygon Street is Teta Mona, a Lebanese eatery loved for its family history and contemporary cuisine. Black and white family portraits adorn white walls and a colourful splay of patterned tiles liven a warm interior, buzzing with the conversation of cheery diners grazing over an array of tasty plates. Twin brothers Antoine and Charlie Taouk take inspiration from their grandmother’s cooking, recreating Lebanese soul food with their own twist, ensuring nothing refined is added and there are plenty of vegan options to enjoy. Bowls to share, like chilli encrusted barramundi with fresh herb salsa, tahini and walnuts burst with colour, while desserts offer delicate aromas such as coconut slice with a date, almond and pepita cocoa truffle.
