Very Disappointed
I dined at the Kenmore today for lunch and was so disappointed. The service was very average and the food even worse. The wine price for a cheep drop was out of this world. I have been going to the Kenmore Tavern since I was in my early 20’s I am now nearly 50. I most certainly thing back 10 years ago it was a far more relaxed and friendly place to dine. I am a qualified chef certificate for in hospitality and management so am fully aware of the cost of thing having owned my own restaurants in Brisbane cairns Weipa and London and I was very disappointed. We organised a family get together for Mothers Day at the recently revived, 'the Kenmore'. The Place - The setting and renovation are fantastic but the rest of the experience was to some degree, disappointing. Staff - The service we received from the staff was prompt and courteous, however I would describe the interaction as unfriendly and lacking any genuine welcome (except Dave at the bar - thanks Dave!). People should be encouraged to simply "smile"! Meals - I ordered the special "Surf and Turf" but the steak was one of the worst I have ever eaten! Very very chewy and quite grissly. 3 of us had this and we all shared the same opinion. A 'special' should be just that, not second rate product marketed at a cheaper price? Other meals were quite nice which earned them a second star in my food ranking. Overall - Chatting with other guests made for a pleasant day, but unfortunately, I would certainly not rush back!

Went to the Kenmore after many months of procrastinating! I had my first Wagyu steak and it was delicious! Cooked perfectly. A very modern, artistic and stylish establishment. I am a huge fan of being able to pre-pay for meals and drinks so you are able to leave once you are finished! The bar tender even prepared my favourite drink in a new way and guaranteed that I would like it. He was spot on! Definitely going to return to the Kenmore and enjoy many a meal.
