Excellent local spot
Busy little out of the way place. Loved the pork belly, tofu and the duck. Good deserts also.

Foodies' Tapas Fun
Best restaurant for miles around - no restaurant that is anything like nearby comes close. Relentlessly excellent food. Highly recommended.

The location is not ideal for passing trade and relays on word of mouth, which is why I find the need to tell all food lovers to make the effort to head to Mudgeeraba for a real treat. The ambience is very quaint and well suited to the area. Whether a Romantic evening, group gathering or corporate lunch, this is definitely the place to taste many different styles of Tapas, or a full meal. Priced to suit the creative style of the food served. I recommend to try their the Soft shell Crab, Tempura Oysters with Wasabi and Kangaroo.

Amazing food, every time. Pork belly, haloumi skewers and arancini balls for dessert are some of our favs. Fantastic wine and a lovely atmosphere

I went to the Wine Barrel on a Thursday night, expecting it to be a bit quiet and empty, was I wrong! There were plenty of people all enjoying tapas, from couples on dates, to girlfriends chatting to families. It had a really nice atmosphere and our waiter was very attentive. Being the only one of the floor he did a wonderful job in making each guest feel special as he talked with everyone and continued on conversations. Not knowing wine all that well, the waiter - Peter, allowed us to taste test a few before choosing -- these weren't just tastes they were a decent three sips, which I thought was rather generous and really impressed my dinner partner. For our mains, we had three tapas to share, the jalapeno poppers, Asian pork spring rolls and the lamb skewers with yoghurt and mint. All were absolutely amazing! For a male and female to share it was just enough food to have you satisfied but not overfull. For desssert we had the chocolate parfait and it was also enough to share and definitely satisfied that chocolate, sweet tooth craving! To top off the night was the live music that was playing, they actually had a harpist in the room, which set the mood for the couples but may have made it a bit funny for the families with children. Overall this place is great for a really enjoyable dinner, however if you are starving -- as in didn't eat all day the bill might be a little pricey as you would probably need 5 tapas to share.

One of the Gold Coast's best hidden secrets. Had such a lovely and relaxing dinner with my husband and the wine selection is great.

Went for dinner again on Friday evening. Food was absolutely spectacular and the wine selection fantastic. Definately my favourite place to dine. Thanks guys keep up the good work.

Lovely food. Not too noisy given that there were a few groups dining when we were there. Country town prices for city quality food. The cheese platter, showcasing local as well as imported cheeses, was particularly good value.

Surprised to find a restaurant of this standard in the suburbs. Great Food, great service! Well done!

The food here is amazing, I couldn't choose between the incredible pork belly or the quail. Perfect for a romantic dinner except you might fall in love with the food instead of your date

Great service, ambience and the food...everything was fantastic with the most amazing Pork Belly and this comes from someone who does not even eat pork!

I can't believe this place is so close to where I live, and yet I've only just discovered it. Had the most amazing dinner there with my colleagues & loved every dish! The atmosphere is really cosy and the staff really friendly. Can't wait to go back and try their tapas!

We have been twice in the last month - once as a big group & last night as a couple. The service was welcoming & attentive service on both occasions. The tapas menu is varied & difficult to choose as everything looks so appetising! We loved the pork belly, chorizo & bocconcini bruschetta & the lemon-infused squid. As the designated driver, it is also refreshing to be able to order decent wine by the glass. Keep up the good work Wine Barrel - we will be supporting you in our patronage time & time again...

Went here for lunch with my boyfriend for his birthday as we went away to springbrook for the week, anyway! Little hard to find if ur not local but greeted with a smile from both ladies working there. The food was fantastic and the service even better, I expect alot from service when I go anywhere, lol! The only bad thing I would have to say is the view out to the car park..... All on all wonderful time and would come back again and again.

This restaurant is a true hidden gem! Warren Carnall is an amazing chef and does credit to his profession. My friend and I visited the Wine Barrel on a Saturday night. The tapas blackboard looked so great, that we didn't even bother looking at the a la carte menu. The 6 tapas we choose were just phenomenal in taste, size, display and value. The pork belly and soft skin crab were exceptionally well done. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and is already on my list to visit soon!

Been there 3 times in the last 2 weeks and loved it every time! Just what Mudgeeraba needed. You had better book because this place is becoming very popular.
