About Yaki Boi Woden

It’s all about Japanese-inspired fusion fare at Yaki Boy Woden on Keltie Street in Phillip. This Canberra diner is all style with cartoon-like murals on the walls, dark wood furniture and neon signage, while a long well-stocked bar promises cheeky cocktails to go with snacks, burgers and pizzas. Japanese-style baked oysters with cheese, fish roe and honey Kewpie mayo are the ideal starter, followed by an unagi burger – eel, fish roe, lettuce, tomato, egg, pineapple, avocado, seaweed, mayo and eel sauce. Perhaps a smoky salmon udon bowl hits the mark, with herbs, cream, onion and bonito flakes; or pick up a slice of Peking duck pizza on a tomato and hoisin base, with shallots, jalapeños, honey, cucumber and coriander. Finish with a dessert of a chocolate-coated waffle basket and ice cream.
