It’s GIVEAWAY TIME again!
As we officially announce the AGFG 12 Days of Christmas giveaways, we take a quick look into the tradition of where exactly did the phrase come.
For example, did you know that the 12 Days of Christmas signifies the time period AFTER December 25 and not the countdown to Christmas?
You see the 12 Days of Christmas is a time period that describes the time from Christ’s birth to the arrival of the three wise men, or magi, as they are technically known, on January 6 - a period of 12 days.
Then there’s the song ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’. This stems from a period in ancient history when Christians weren’t allowed to worship and so a song was written about the gifts that define different aspects of faith.
We aren’t sure what turtle doves or partridges in a pear tree mean, but we do know what the 12 days of Australian Good Food Guide Christmas means! That’s 12 days of giveaways and we are really excited to play the role of culinary Santa and share some things we think all foodies will love this Christmas season.

Day 1: CLOVER HILL WINES. A multi-course dining and tasting experience for two.

Day 5 TSARINE:
Brut bottle of Champagne. Created by the Chanoine Frères and founded in 1730 - only the house of Ruinart is older. Golden hues highlight this cuvée, imparting brightness and elegance. Delicate effervescence is enhanced by a chorus of fine bubbles. Aromas are expressed gradually on notes of mirabelle plum and freshly picked grape blossoms. Yellow fruit flavours – peach, apricot and nectarine – gradually blend with those of bitter orange, producing a well-balanced wine with remarkable breadth that finishes on lemony notes.
