Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!
You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.
What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant? Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.
Say cheers to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.
With Father’s Day and Spring just around the corner, thoughts turn to warmer weather and alfresco barbeques with family and friends to celebrate special occasions. We have just the cocktail temptation to go with sausages, salad and happy days – try this unique Barbeque Bloody Mary concoction.
From the recipe book The Bloody Mary by Brian Bartels, this drink is not for the faint-hearted using beef jus and dripping from your next cook-up. Originally from Big Bob Gibson’s Bar-B-Q in Decatur, Alabama, Brian discovered the drink at a Big Apple Block Party and says it has forever changed him.
Save the dripping from your next barbeque, or use unsalted beef stock for the cocktail, garnish with smoked celery salt, lots of smiles and high fives!
Tomato juice, vodka, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, sriracha, black pepper and lemon juice combine for a drink that is sure to light the flame under Dad for a Father’s Day to remember.
