Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!
You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.
What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant? Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.
Welcome to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.
Redbird restaurant on Redfern Street in Sydney is a place to feast, linger, wind down and gather over a modern Chinese menu crafted from quality ingredients. Owned and operated by Redfern locals, Hamish Ingham and Rebecca Lines, expect a moody vibe of seductive lighting, well-worn brick and banquette seating; or dine alfresco on balmy days and watch the world pass by.
Rebecca serves up the Redbird cocktail – an aperitif twist on the infamous Long Island Iced Tea – with Aperol, Campari, salted plum gin, Don Julio Blanco, osmanthus syrup and bitter lemon soda.
"This mix of flavours welcomes our guests to the restaurant to enjoy a meal and feel at home,” Rebecca says.
