Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!
You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.
What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant? Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.
Welcome to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.
Experience the laid-back warmth of the Warren View Hotel as you are welcomed without pretension to Teddy’s Enmore on Stanmore Road. This new neighbourhood bar, tucked away above the pub, oozes charm and open-natured approachable service in surrounds of exposed well-worn brick, moody lighting and leather armchairs for chilling out.
Mixologist Daniel Strahand delivers a version of a spicy Margarita that you won’t be expecting – the Unexpected Guest cocktail.
"Everyone loves a spicy Margarita so I encourage them to try this drink. The spice is very upfront but dissipates quickly, it’s a more refined elegant take on the classic cocktail,” he says. "You can still enjoy your hot meal without the spice affecting your palate too much.
"The combination of the agave and acid really makes this drink approachable.”
The cocktail got its name because it is crystal clear and doesn’t look at all like it’s going to taste - hence the Unexpected Guest – making it the bar owner’s favourite drink and it is always a hit with their friends and guests.
