Cocktail of the Week from Uncanny Mixologist Blaze aka Bar Daddy

Small bar, big vibe – that’s what you get at Uncanny on King Street in Newtown. Relax, mingle, share some great Mediterranean-inspired food and sip on creative cocktails at this inclusive, vegan-friendly venue in fun and funky surrounds of painted and exposed brick, an eclectic mix of artwork and comfy couches to chill out on with a Rogue Gimlet – Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin with elderflower, lavender, lime and mint oil.

Mixologist Blaze, aka Bar Daddy, recommends imbibing the Sour Bloody Sour cocktail on your next visit – made with Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz gin, Amaro Montenegro, lemon juice, vanilla, orange and cinnamon syrup and aquafaba:

"It’s for the cinnamon lovers and anyone who’s keen to try a fun twist on the classic sour. It is also made with aquafaba, keeping the taste of a sour but making it drinkable by all,” he says. "Originally a special intended to run for one week only, the Sour Bloody Sour quickly became our bestselling blackboard special.”

As for the name?

"We love our rock n roll at Uncanny so the name is a reference to the Black Sabbath song 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath'.”

Try this cocktail on a Friday afternoon to relax after a long and stressful work week. Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.
