Discover Chateau La Gordonne, a Hidden Gem in the Heart of Provence

The recent restoration of Château La Gordonne has been unveiled alongside the release of its spectacularly crafted range of Provence premium wines.

The coveted Château La Gordonne is an architectural masterpiece - following three years of craftmanship, the estate has been returned to its former glory. Intensely close to nature, wild and beautiful, the remarkable landmark was built for wine-lovers across the world and is now being hailed as one of most beautiful wine estates in Provence located between Saint-Tropez and Toulon and open for visits or a dream location for weddings.

The domain was once home to a beautiful chapel with the original bell dating back to 1654 which is piously kept at the castle – its decoration consists of a row of scrolls and a cross adorned with scrolls of two-tiered base with the inscription ‘Jesus, Maria, Joseph’.

Situated in Pierrefeu-du-Var, a remarkable terroir spanning 320 hectares of vineyards within an exceptional amphitheatre facing the Mediterranean Sea, the rosé wines of Château La Gordonne are crafted with the utmost care and precision.

Julien Fort, the winemaker who was elected as one the top 100 best winemakers of the world by Wine Enthusiast earlier this year, notes how the estate is a harmony of precise land, expertly managed according to grape variety, type of soil, sun exposure, altitude and wind, all allowing for the perfect blend.

"When you know your homeland well, you know where the wind comes from, you know the duration and the vagaries of the sun exposure, the play of light and shade, the grape varieties and their histories,” Julien says.

"We like to make a wine that resembles its land, generous and sun-drenched, where the colour reflects the softness of a region unique in the world, where the nose inhales the most subtle perfumes of the Mediterranean.”
