Hotel Nacional, Hardware Lane’s five-level 100% gluten-free Mexican-inspired rooftop bar and restaurant, is excited to announce its partnership with TWØBAYS Brewing Co, Australia’s leading independent gluten-free brewery, to release its new house cerveza.
This collaboration brings together two Melbourne icons with one long-term goal – ensuring everyone, including the 25% of Aussies avoiding gluten, can enjoy great food and great beer.
Since opening its doors in June 2024, Hotel Nacional has fast become a neighbourhood icon of Hardware Lane. Now, in an exciting collaboration with TWØBAYS Brewing Co, Hotel Nacional is introducing its new house cerveza to its 100% gluten-free menu.
Locally brewed on the Mornington Peninsula, this Mexican-inspired beer will be delivered fresh from TWØBAYS. Specialising in brewing beer made exclusively from naturally gluten-free grains, TWØBAYS ensures the 6 million Aussies avoiding gluten can still enjoy a wide choice of great beers.
One of only a handful of Australian breweries to have ever won a World Beer Cup, TWØBAYS was recognised as the world’s best in 2024 and is now brewing a Mexican-inspired cerveza for Hotel Nacional.
TWØBAYS Founder and CEO, Richard Jeffares says: "Great beer is for everyone. We brew it with naturally gluten-free grains so coeliacs like myself don’t have to miss out on a beer with mates. Mexican lager is traditionally brewed with barley (gluten) and corn (gluten-free), so we’ve swapped out the barley with malted millet to deliver a really refreshing, great tasting Mexican style lager.”
The core range has six beers – Pale Ale, Lager, Session Ale, XPA, IPA and Japanese rice lager – along with seasonal and specialty releases exploring new styles of gluten-free beer.
