Taking inspiration from Brisbane’s multicultural southside, Juju Bar & Dining on Calam Road in Sunnybank Hills dishes up a refined and casual dining experience. East Asian flavours are infused into a creative modern menu, ideal for lingering over a meal with someone special in stylish surrounds of softly glowing pendent globes, timber and black table settings.

What’s your most popular dish/drink:

We have two extremely popular dishes – egg salad with shokupan (Japanese brioche bread), or sake dry-aged roasted duck.

The egg salad is refreshing and has a burst of flavour with housemade brioche bread that’s got adults and children asking for seconds. 

The duck is dry-aged in a sake solution for 7 days in-house and served with wok-tossed spices. It is tender and flavoursome, with a texture that is hard to find in Brisbane and impossible to find on Brisbane’s southside.

What's your point of difference:

Chef Andrew Birse (2022 Hotel Chef of the Year finalist) is our key difference. Andrew is classically trained in French cuisine, but with his Japanese wife, he has been influenced heavily by Japanese elements in his cooking.

This shows in our menu, which is pan-Asian and borrows heavily from Japanese elements. The food quality offered by JuJu Bar & Dining is unrivalled on Brisbane’s southside as most venues opt for a casual dining experience.

In comparison, we are more of a fine casual experience helmed by a fine dining Chef, with all the awards that come with it.

What is a fun fact that not many people know about the restaurant?

 We’ve just opened our doors, we want to offer a reasonably affordable offering in a refined atmosphere with casual friendly service. We welcome guests to come for dinner, brunch, or even a casual drink at our beautiful bar.
